Driving fine: British drivers slam ‘nonsense’ air con rule that can land £5,000 fine
Drivers were warned that they could be subject to fines of up to PS5,000 if their cars are not ventilated properly in warmer weather. Express.co.uk readers vented their anger over the "nonsense rule" in the comments section.
Googleskimmer stated that "AirCon does not actually ventilate anything. It conditions the air that would enter the car if it was not there."
"I doubt anyone would ever be taken into court for running the aircon in violation of this ventilation law' as somewhere in the chain, there must be someone who knows this - but some people will pay the fine as it isn't."
Galeb wrote, "Yet further legislation heaped upon drivers who are now classified as public enemy number one.
"My question is: How will these ridiculous rules be policed?"
These conditions have a significant impact on steering and braking.
Drivers are also advised by the Highway Code to take extra care when driving, in case they get too bright.
Road users are advised to slow down and, if necessary, stop driving.
The Highway Code is not the only law. However, many of its instructions are legally binding.
Traffic violations could result in road users being punished for not following the guidelines.
According to the Government, "Many of these Code rules are legal requirements and you can be convicted of a crime if you don't comply with them."
You could be fined or given penalty points on the license. You may even be sent to prison in the most severe cases.
